Anastasia Stevens-Chase, M.D.
Dr. Anastasia Stevens-Chase was born and raised in Rochester, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Physiology in 2011.
Dr. Stevens went on to attend medical school at the University of Toledo College of Medicine, graduating in 2015. Dr. Stevens completed her General Surgery residency at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center, where she served as the administrative chief resident during her final year.
After completing residency, she went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center. Her fellowship focused on the surgical management of morbid obesity, diseases of the foregut, and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. In 2021, Dr. Stevens became board certified in General Surgery and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.
Upon completing her fellowship, Dr. Stevens joined Premier Surgical Specialists in September 2021, and is on staff at Troy Beaumont Hospital, where she practices Bariatric and General Surgery. As a fellowship trained minimally invasive surgeon, she is skilled at laparoscopic and robotic approaches to many General Surgery procedures. Her laparoscopic and endoscopic skills have been certified by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Her robotic surgical skills have been certified by Intuitive Surgical.
Dr. Stevens-Chase is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Wayne State Surgical Society, where she previously served as the Resident representative from 2019-2020.
She has presented research at the local and state level, and remains dedicated to the advancement of innovative surgical techniques and education.
Her areas of expertise include the surgical treatment and management of morbid obesity, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal and paraesophageal hernias, achalasia, gastric tumors, peptic ulcer disease, delayed gastric emptying, biliary disease, benign and malignant pancreatic tumors, disorders and tumors of the small and large intestines, peritoneal dialysis catheter access, abdominal wall hernias, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, inguinal hernias, and endocrine disorders involving the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Stevens enjoys long distance running, MSU football, and cooking for her friends and family.
