Anastasia Stevens-Chase, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Personal information

Dr. Anastasia Stevens-Chase was born and raised in Rochester, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Physiology.

 

Dr. Stevens went on to attend medical school at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. Dr. Stevens completed her General Surgery residency at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center. After completing residency, she went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center. Her fellowship focused on the surgical management of morbid obesity, diseases of the foregut, and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

 

Dr. Stevens is board certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of national and state chapters of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the Wayne State Surgical Society.

 

Upon completing her fellowship, Dr. Stevens joined Premier Surgical Specialists in September 2021, and is on staff at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital (formerly Troy Beaumont), where she practices both Bariatric and General Surgery. As a fellowship trained minimally invasive surgeon, she is skilled at laparoscopic and robotic approaches to many General Surgery procedures. She is dedicated to the advancement of innovative surgical techniques and education.

 

Her areas of expertise include the surgical treatment and management of morbid obesity (including both the sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-y gastric bypass procedures), gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal and paraesophageal hernias, achalasia, gastric tumors, peptic ulcer disease, biliary and gallbladder disease, disorders and tumors of the small and large intestines, peritoneal dialysis catheter access, abdominal wall hernias, inguinal hernias, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, soft tissue masses, and endocrine disorders involving the thyroid and parathyroid glands.

 

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Stevens enjoys spending time with her daughter and family, Michigan State football, gardening, and cooking.
